Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Tuesday met with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. Talking to reporters at the end of the meeting, Mottaki said that "there is no document proving Iran has used nuclear energy for non-peaceful purposes." "To us, 50 percent of the issue is clear. We are satisfied over the fact that reports, documents and inspections have proved no diversion in Iran's nuclear program and that our activities are peaceful," Mottaki said.
According to IRNA, he added the remaining 50 percent will be cleared through "our guarantee that our activities have not been diverted into non-peaceful purposes."
According to him, Iran has repeatedly made it known that it was completely against weapons of mass destruction and committed to a region free from such weapons.
