Fire in Algerian jail suffocates 20 inmates

Fire broke out on Tuesday in a jail in Tabsa, some 600 kilometers east of the capital of Algiers, resulting in the suffocation of twenty prison inmates, according to Algeria’s News Agency.  

 

Ten inmates have been transferred to intensive care units in Tabsa hospital for medical treatment, while authorities launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.(Albawaba.com)
