FIFA has provisionally lifted the suspension imposed on Yemen's Football association (YFF). Middle East Observer reports that as a result of this decision, the YFF is once again entitled to participate in FIFA competitions. FIFA decided to lift the suspension following a report by Mohamed bin Hammam, president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), on his visit to Yemen in mid-September. FIFA had imposed the suspension in August for what it called serious interference by political authorities in the internal affairs of the YFF.
