Yasser Arafat forced 20 activists hiding in his West Bank headquarters to leave the premises early Thursday, fearing the Israeli army would raid the complex to grab them, one of the departing activists said.

The activists, all members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, a group linked to Arafat's Fatah movement, have been hiding from the Israeli army in Arafat's headquarters for months.

Overnight, at about 3 a.m., Arafat told some 20 men to leave, the activist told The AP. He said they had left but were angry.

On his part, Arafat denied these claims saying no "wanted" activists were hiding in his HQ, except one injured. (Albawaba.com)
