ALBAWABA- The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority has reported an explosion on a vessel sailing approximately 50 miles southeast of Aden in Yemen.
Details are scarce regarding the ownership of the vessel or the extent of the damages caused by the explosion.
However, it is noteworthy that Houthis in Yemen have been known to target vessels bound for Israel, as well as US and UK warships in the Red and Arabian Seas.
These actions are often perceived as support for Gaza and retaliation against American-British-led airstrikes on Yemen.
The incident comes amidst heightened tensions in the region. Just last night, the US and UK launched four airstrikes on Hodeidah International Airport in western Yemen, further escalating the situation.
