UAE’S telecom corporation Etisalat stated a power failure at one of its buildings in Dubai on Monday led to the temporary disruption of telephone services to Jumeirah-1 and GSM services in Jumeirah-1 and parts of Zabeel. According to Gulf News, the mishap occurred at around 7.30 pm when contractors working without appropriate approval from Etisalat caused a power cut in the building. This caused problems for landline and GSM services. Engineers rectified the situation by about 9 p.m. Full service was restored by 9.20 pm. (Albawaba.com)
