Etihad Crystal Cargo, the cargo division of the Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates – is making the final arrangements ahead of the arrival of the football World Champions, Brazil who will play their first ever match in the region this Saturday, 12 November, against the UAE national team.

The Brazilian stars including Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho and Robinho, will fly on Etihad Airways’ luxury appointed A330-200 from Frankfurt to Abu Dhabi in the early hours of Friday morning.

Players’ dietary requirements are a vital part of modern football, so as well as carrying the Brazilian players and team officials, Etihad Crystal cargo will also transport over 3.5 tons of the team’s food and water to provide them with sustenance during their stay in the UAE.

“Etihad Airways regularly carries international VIP guests and this historic match is no exception. Etihad is changing its usual schedule to ensure the World Champion footballers arrive in Abu Dhabi with minimal disruption and in the style to which they are accustomed to,” said Ingo Roessler, VP Crystal Cargo, Etihad Airways.

Hundreds of fans are expected at Abu Dhabi International Airport to see the Brazilian players arrive; the team will then be transferred to the Emirates Palace Hotel where they will stay during the visit.

“Ticket sales for the match have gone very well, which will ensure a fantastic atmosphere in the Zayed Sports City Stadium on Saturday night. Etihad Airways is synonymous with style and hospitality and, as the official carrier for this match, we are further demonstrating our position as a world-class airline,” added Ingo.

A free training session will be held at the stadium late on Friday afternoon when fans will get their first chance to see the Brazilian team in action ahead of the match.

Tickets are priced at AED175 and AED 250 for the gallery, and first class and VIP tickets cost AED 1,500, and are on sale at outlets across the region including Virgin Megastores in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Cairo, as well as in Hallmark outlets in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
