A "National Committee to Resist Normalization with Israel" will be set up in the UAE next month, member of the committee was quoted as saying by the Gulf News Friday.
Abdullah Al Shamsi, general coordinator of the committee, said "the committee will operate as a non-government organization which aims to fight any form of social, economic or political cooperation with the Israeli enemy.”
The committee will also “enhance the country's supporting stance toward the Palestinians in the occupied territories."
Al Shamsi, a professor at the Faculty of Engineering at UAE University, said the committee would comprise prominent persons who are willing to exert their best efforts in solidarity with the Palestinian cause, said the paper.
Meanwhile, chairman of the UAE Jurists Association, Mohammed Abdullah Al Rokn, announced Friday that violations of Palestinian human rights will be the focus of the Sixth Symposium for Human Rights that the association will organize in Abu Dhabi.
The three-day symposium will be held on April 12, said the paper – Albawaba.com
