Emirates Thermostone Company, a member company of M’Sharie Venture Capital, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments PJSC, has announced the commencement of commercial production of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) materials in its recently set up facility at Dubai Investments Park (DIP).
Established in a plot of 600,000 square feet area, Emirates Thermostone operates in technical collaboration with some leading European companies specialised in the production of AAC materials. The production facility is one of the largest and most technically advanced plants in the Middle East region, with an annual capacity of about 15 million blocks per year.
Abdul Aziz Al Serkal, Managing Director, M’sharie said, “Following satisfactory results of testing of our products, Dubai Municipality has approved Emirates Thermostone as a registered supplier of AAC blocks. The commencement of production at the plant will help address the growing demand for advanced building materials in the UAE, especially since construction activities are at an all-time high with residential and commercial establishments being built across the country”.
Ali Abdulkarim, General Manager of Emirates Thermostone added that “Thermostone AAC blocks have a number of value-added advantages over conventional blocks, as they have excellent thermal insulation properties, are lightweight and provide acoustic as well as fire-proofing properties. Besides being cost-efficient and energy-saving, our long lasting construction materials are environment friendly as they are non-toxic.”
Ensuring huge cost savings in installation, Thermostone blocks are recommended for straight-course laying by applying a thin-bed mortar. This method will ensure a particularly high quality wall-structure with uniform thermal insulation, without heat bridges in the joints.
“We expect customers to save up to 40 percent on energy bills by using a Thermostone system as against traditional concrete. The use of these blocks also improves the durability of the air-conditioning units, while also helping to keep the cold out during winters,” Abdulkarim pointed out.
