Emirates Bank Group has announced that it would begin on-line procurement of goods and services through Tejari.com, the Middle East's premier on-line business-to-business (B2B) marketplace, Khaleej Times reported Saturday.

The group, according to the paper, will utilize Tejari as the "back-end" procurement mechanism to complement its "front-end" services of Internet banking, and strengthen its comprehensive on-line strategy.

The official press release was quoted by the daily as saying that “the Emirates Bank Group's membership on the Tejari exchange will enable the financial services leader to reduce procurement costs for its banking infrastructure, including IT equipment, office fittings, and even outsourced services.”

Through Tejari, the group can also reach a global market for its banking and insurance offerings, it added – Albawaba.com
