Egypt Plans Power Plant to Facilitate Settling Millions in Sinai

Egypty has moved a step forward in its plans to settle three million citizens in the Sinai Pennisula, according to a minister quoted by Al Messa newspaper. 

Minister of Electricity Ali Saidi has said that funds are ready for a huge electricity generation project in the desert that will help three million Egyptians settle in the Sinai over the next few years, cultivate thousands of acres of land, and build industrial and tourist projects in the area. 

The generating station at Uyoon Moussa will be built with a capacity of 650,000 kilovolts at the cost of $424 million, said the Cairo-based paper – Albawaba.com
