In a bid to further its corporate social responsibility efforts, e-TQM College, the pioneering e-learning institution specialized in offering Total Quality Management education, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Autism Center (DAC), whereby the college will provide their expertise to emphasise the importance of quality among DAC.
As per the MoU, e-TQM College will conduct training programs for the administrative staff of DAC, and also present best practices and studies in the field of quality. DAC will also actively participate in the series of quality-focussed seminars and conferences hosted by e-TQM College.
“Through this MoU, e-TQM College aims to drive home the point that the concept of quality is not restricted to corporates or certain professional entities, but is pertinent to the entire spectrum of the society,” said Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Vice President, e-TQM College. “Dubai Autism Center will benefit enormously from this partnership, as its staff will adopt a quality-driven approach in various aspects of management and education at the Center. DAC has been doing a commendable job over the years, caring for autistic children and providing a ray of hope for their parents, and we are certain that together with e-TQM College, the Center can further enhance the quality of services and education it is providing.”
Mohamed Al Amadi, Director, Dubai Autism Center, said, “DAC’s primary objective is to make autistic children as independent as possible, by teaching them various day-to-day tasks, and gradually strengthening their skills depending on their abilities. Our well-experienced and dedicated team at DAC has been committed to impart the most effective education to the children, by adopting internationally recognised methods and modules. Our MoU with e-TQM College will help us in realizing our objectives more efficiently, as we would be able to lay more emphasis on quality at various organizational, operational and educational levels.”
The Dubai Autism Center is a non-profit organization, launched in November 2001 by a decree law by late H.H Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, turning a dream of parents with Autistic children in UAE into a reality. It started as a Resource Center for parents and professionals, providing essential resources such as books and videos beside specialists on Autism. Today DAC houses its own center located at Jumeirah, with fully equipped classrooms along with a kitchen and a combined living room/ bedroom used for teaching daily life skills, a playground and a gym. The Dubai Autism Center has its own team of professionals - Clinical Psychologist, Speech and Language Pathologist, and Occupational Therapist, who work together in assessing the child as well as providing the best program for each individual.
