Dubai Police Gets Advanced Lab Equipment

The forensic laboratory of Dubai Police has received advanced equipment for DNA tests, reported Khaleej Times daily. 

 

Colonel Abdul Qadir Al Khayat, director of the criminal evidences division, said the 'ABI 310' genetic analyser, used in DNA tests to separate electrodes, analyses specimens in less than 30 minutes. It saves time and energy and and provides highly accurate results at reduced costs. The device can also store records of suspects, which can be used as reference.  

 

Col Khayat revealed that since the outset of 2001 Dubai Police had commenced gathering criminal evidences relating to convicts and suspects in various cases and storing them in a filing system called 'LIMS'. The aim is to set up an electronic database on criminals. (Albawaba.com)
