The Statistics Centre of Dubai Municipality has crystallized a strategy for statistics in the emirate. The new strategy deals with garnering data and satisfying the needs of local departments, stated Arif Obaid Al Muheiri, director of the centre. According to Gulf News, under Law No. 7 of 2001 circulated by Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the centre has become a sole source of data and statistical information about the emirates from various local departments and Dubai government authorities, companies, ministries and federal institutions. He added that the centre reviews and coordinates with all local departments to set up a mechanism for cooperation and methodology to meet requirements. (Albawaba.com)
