Drake & Scull International expands presence to Abu Dhabi with two high profile projects

Drake and Scull International (DSI), one of the leading independent electrical and mechanical engineering contracting companies, has announced that it is expanding its presence in Abu Dhabi by undertaking contracts for two high profile projects in the Emirate. The company has also announced the appointment of Ahmad Al Naser as Operations Manager for Abu Dhabi.

Al Naser’s appointment comes as DSI is completing the design, supply and execution of all the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works for GASCO’s Onshore Gas Development (OGD) III in Habshan, as well as Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations’ (ADCO) North East BAB Phase-I Development in Al Dhabiyya.

Commenting on the company’s operations expansion in Abu Dhabi, Khaldoun Al Tabari, Executive Director, Drake & Scull International said, “Abu Dhabi is one of the most important locations for DSI as huge investments are being made on capital intensive projects. DSI is presently completing the MEP works for different developments in the Emirate, well within the time frame and the budget of the contract. To see these contracts fruition, DSI has appointed a skilled manager who will help us maintain the competitive edge in the market.”

DSI was awarded the AED 29 million contract by GASCO for the design, supply and execution of all internal mechanical and low voltage works related to 15 buildings including new main control building, located at OGD III’s project site in Habshan. On the other hand, DSI has already completed the AED 63 million contract given by ADCO to design, supply and execute all the electro-mechanical works related to administration complex, accommodation complex, police camp and oil spill centre which was constructed at Al Dhabiyya.

Ahmad Al Naser joined Drake & Scull International as project manager in 2002, and has worked on a number of important projects in that capacity, such as the Traders Hotel and Zayed University. His large experience and lateral exposure to the minutiae of successful project delivery will hold him in excellent stead in the fast-paced Abu Dhabi market.
