Algerian dailies reported the death of ten armed men believed to be armed Islamic extremist group, in three districts east and west the Algerian capital.
The "al-Youm" daily reported that security forces found the bodies of five armed Islamic extremists on Thursday, in the Ain Defla province, 150 kilometers southwest the capital. A shepherd had found a machinegun and other weapons in the area where the bodies were found.
The army forces had raided the area last week using helicopters. In the Setif province, 300 kilometers east the Algiers, police forces killed three armed men and arrested three others on Wednesday and Thursday, said the press reports.
The "al-Khabar" daily reported that armed groups wearing afghan uniforms were killed on Thursday in the Annaba province northeast the country. On the other hand, local dailies reported that a group of armed men killed civilians, 80 kilometers south the capital. No information was provided on the new massacre.
More than 100,000 Algerians have been killed in the civil war that erupted in 1992 after the army interfered to deprive Islamists from a democratic victory in the parliamentary elections. (Albawaba.com)
