Damascus Radio underlined on Tuesday the importance of convening a ministerial meeting of Iraq’s neighboring states and Egypt, which Syria sought for, in order to unify efforts to avert the region and Iraq from the dangers of a possible war.
The state-run radio, in its daily political commentary, emphasized that Damascus’ significant move and efforts would continue to crystallize a unified stance, which “reflect the position and potentials of the participant states to affect events and represent hopes...of peoples which reject war and (are) eager (for) peace”.
Cited by SANA, the Syrian radio focused on Syria’s call before the Security Council, in which it suggested working in a parallel way for combating international terrorism, convening an international conference for defining terrorism and distinguishing it from resistance as well as eliminating weapons of mass destruction.
