Damascus radio stressed on Sunday that the US silence regarding developments in the Palestinian occupied territories, due to the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, “rouses Arab astonishment and anger”.

The radio emphasized that at a time Washington has been beating the drums of an unjustified war against Iraq, Israeli Premier Ariel Sharon, who is considered by the US a “Man of Peace”, has aborted the peace process, which Washington was its main sponsor.

The state-run radio, in its daily political commentary, indicated that Sharon has done this through killing unarmed Palestinians and demolishing homes.

The radio added that the US “obvious bias” towards Israel leads America to lose its credibility. It added that those who speak of terrorism should first put an end to the Israeli aggressive practices against the Palestinians and then talk about commitment to international resolutions, which Israel hasn’t committed itself to any one of them.

According to SANA, the radio concluded by asserting that the peoples of the world, aware of the dangers threatening the region and the world have expressed condemnation of Sharon’s war on the Palestinians and of Bush’s war on Iraq through worldwide demonstrations.

The radio further called on the Arabs for solidarity in facing the challenges. (Albawaba.com)
