Cypriot Foreign Affairs Minister Georgios Iacovou began his meetings at the UN headquarters in New York Monday by meeting with President of the General Assembly Jan Cavan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
Iacovou told CNA news agency that the meeting was held in a warm atmosphere, and added that talks dealt with the Cyprus problem, efforts to reach a settlement and the island's accession to the European Union (EU).
Replying to questions, Iacovou said the Cyprus problem was still on the General Assembly's agenda and would remain there until a settlement was achieved. (Albawaba.com)
