CNN is to launch an Auto section on its Arabic language web site, CNNArabic.com, providing a comprehensive news and information resource about cars and automobile technology. This new site, the first of its kind on the CNN Arabic web site, is to be sponsored by the automobile manufacturer, Nissan.
The new auto section provides users with a comprehensive resource delivering the latest information about automobiles ranging from analysis of the latest technology, to advice about safe driving.
“Because of the popularity of cars in this region, and the fact that they are the primary mode of transportation, it made sense to develop this addition to our news site,” said Caroline Faraj Chief Editor and Manager of the CNN Dubai bureau.
Faraj continued, “The site will be one of the most comprehensive breakdowns of the automotive industry in the region. It’s important that we at CNN recognize regional preferences, and one of the strong regional preferences in Dubai is the car industry.”
Nissan too was pleased with the announcement. “We recognize that CNN is a growing player in the Middle East region, as is Nissan. We’re happy to work together with them because of that,” said Toru Hasegawa, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East.
The CNNArabic.com auto section will focus on cars used in the Middle East and provide news about the latest versions of cars on the market, including information on the best values and safest models. It will also deliver a focus on new cars and new automobile technologies, encompassing specific information about car components including tyre and engine technology. Other features on the site include a tip of the week, giving advice to drivers about the safest ways of driving.
The new auto section also features an interactive element which allows users to choose the car they prefer, and design it to their own specifications. The section will also give the user the ability to browse images of a huge range of different cars.
