Prince Raad bin Zeid, a cousin of Iraq's second king, Ghazi, was stable on Tuesday after a heart operation in the Jordanian capital of Amman, to unblock an artery, a medical source said.
Prince Raad, aged 67, is a cousin on his father's side of King Ghazi, the father of King Faisal II, the last king of Iraq who was assassinated in the 1958 revolution.
"He fell ill Sunday night and was taken to hospital. He underwent heart surgery on Tuesday to unblock an artery and his condition is stable," AFP cited a medical source, requesting anonymity, as saying.
Prince Raad, related to Jordan's ruling Hashemite family, holds the honorary position of Grand Chamberlain in the Jordanian royal palace. (Albawaba.com)
