ALBAWABA - Turkish authorities said a Vistara Airlines aircraft to Germany made an emergency stop in Turkey on Friday after a bomb threat.

Flight UK 27 from Mumbai to Frankfurt, with 247 passengers and staff, arrived successfully at Erzurum Airport in eastern Turkey. The governor of Erzurum, Mustafa Çiftçi, verified the safe landing and evacuation of all passengers, as reported by Anadolu News Agency.

After an extensive evacuation, authorities are scrutinizing the bags and planes. According to Haber Turk, the pilots made the emergency landing after a passenger reported a bomb on board as the jet reached Turkish territory.

Governor Çiftçi announced the temporary closure of Erzurum's airspace due to the possible danger.

Vistara Airlines confirmed on X (previously Twitter) that the flight was redirected to Erzurum Airport for security and landed safely.
