Attackers detonated a bomb outside the house of an Iraqi police official Saturday, killing three members of his family and injuring three others, while gunmen injured a policeman in an attack on a nearby town, officials said.
The bomb attack took place in the town of Habhab, some 20 kilometers north of Baqouba, with the explosion hitting the home of a police non-commissioned officer, Muayyad Ayad. Two women and a male relative were killed, Nasser Jawad, a doctor at Baqouba hospital, was quoted as saying by The AP.
In the town of Muqdadiyah, some 30 kilometers north of Baqouba, three gunmen opened fire on the house of the town mayor, sparking a gunbattle with his security guards. One policeman was injured. (Albawaba.com)
