Abdel Nasser Muslem Abu Shoka, 37, a member of the Islamic Resistance Movement, or Hamas, late Thursday was killed in an explosion in his home in the Bureij refugee camp. Hamas accused Israel of the killing, saying a missile was launched into his home by an Israeli helicopter. For its part, the army said it was not involved in this incident. Hamas website confirmed on Friday that Abu Shoka was the military commander of Hamas in central Gaza Strip.
Early Friday, a Qassam rocket landed in an Israeli town bordering the Gaza Strip. One house was damaged, but no casualties were reported.
Late Thursday, Israeli forces in some 30 vehicles entered the village of Burqin near the town of Jenin at the northern edge of the West Bank, exchanging heavy fire with Palestinian fighters. An Israeli soldier was seriously wounded, the Israeli military said. No Palestinian casualties were reported. (Albawaba.com)
