ALBAWABA - Long lines are waiting in front of stores worldwide following the launch of a new watch -- a collaboration between Swiss watchmakers Swatch and Audemars Piguet.
The AP x Swatch collab forced police to interfere in several countries over the mass crowds that lined up for long hours to buy the $400 to $420 watch, whose price tripled on the black market.
What to know about the AP x Swatch collab:
A collaboration was uncovered between Swiss watchmakers Swatch and Audemars Piguet, which is a very expensive and fancy watch line compared to Swatch, last week.
The collaboration is called the Royal Pop Collection – marrying "Audemars Piguet's iconic Royal Oak and Swatch's POP watches from the 1980s."

The watches look like a stopwatch reimagined, with a timepiece hung on a lanyard or keychain of sorts, Fox News reported.
There are eight versions of the watches, and for a price of $400 and $420, according to The New York Times.
Swatch responded to the huge crowds, which pushed the company to close many stores yesterday, by saying, "To all our dear fans worldwide of our AP x Swatch collab, launched on May 16. To ensure the safety of both our customers and our staff in Swatch stores, we kindly ask you not to rush to our stores in large numbers to acquire this product.
The Royal Pop Collection will remain available for several months. In some countries, queues of more than 50 people cannot be accepted, and sales may need to be paused."
