The UAE National Strategic Plan has recommended the formation of an independent department to monitor the noise coming from construction sites and to impose new means to reduce it. The plan emphasized that it was vital for the UAE to make new laws to reduce the noise coming from construction sites.
According to the Dubai-based Gulf News daily, the plan said that one of the key proposals was "The Polluter Pays Policy" which imposes heavy fines on companies that cause pollution. The plan added, however, that facilitating their investment should reward companies, which introduce new techniques to reduce the noise.
