Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday issued a decree appointing Lt.Gen. Hasan Turkmani as the Deputy Commander in Chief of the Army and Armed Forces and Defense Minister.
Meanwhile, a party was held Wednesday in honor of the First Lieut. Gen. Musstafa Tlass who ended his service at the Military, and to congratulate Lieut. Gen. Ali Habib on the occasion of assuming his new post as Chief of Staff, SANA reported.
The honoring party was attended by Defense Minister Deputies and other high ranking army officers.
Lieut. Gen. Turkmani said in a speech that Tlass has spent decades in the service of the Army and the nation, and dedicated his life for the building of the Syrian armed forces.
For his part, Tlass delivered a speech in which he thanked President Bashar al-Assad and Lieut. Gen. Turkmani for holding the party in his honor, wishing Turkmani and Habib success in their new posts and duties. (Albawaba.com)
