Palestinian President Yasser Arafat arrived in Saudi Arabia Tuesday for talks on the Middle East peace process following the reopening of peace negotiations with Israel, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Arafat will meet King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz during his one-day visit for talks on "developments in the peace process and the situation in the Palestinian territories," A Palestinian diplomat told AFP.
Arafat was accompanied by the Palestine Liberation Organization's number two, Mahmoud Abbas.
Kuwait's News Agency (KUNA), meanwhile, quoted a statement by the Saudi cabinet as saying Monday that the kingdom is confident that the new US administration will continue its efforts to reach a peace deal between the Palestinians and Israel -- Albawaba.com
