Almasa IT Distribution today announced that Samsung awarded the company with the “Best Growth Award, Optical Media Storage – FY 2005”. The award is based on Almasa IT Distribution’s strong year-on-year business growth of 200%. In addition, Almasa IT Distribution received the Samsung award “Best Performance, Hard Disk Drives – FY2005”, as the company’s strong relationship to the local channel were contributing factors that helped Samsung to increase its HDD market share in the region.
Raj Samuel, Sales Marketing Manager from Samsung, said: “The regional distribution agreement for GCC, Egypt and Yemen is in line with Samsung’s objective to be the top Storage vendor in the region. We believe Almasa’s channel engagement and focus is in line with this objective.”
The awards do not only reflect on Almasa IT Distribution’s continuous efforts to maintain its position as the leading IT distributor in the MENA region (since 2004), but also show the company’s ambition to secure a satisfying profitability for all partners within the business channel.
Appointed only in the third quarter of 2004 as one of three Samsung distributors in the UAE, Samsung has now promoted Almasa IT Distribution to one of its two “Regional Distributors” for the GCC countries (except Saudi Arabia), Yemen and Egypt.
