Algerian military plane crashes in residential area; At least 17 people killed

A military plane crashed in a residential area west of Algiers on Monday, killing at least 17 people, reports said. Among the dead were four crew members. The crash took place in Beni Mered near the Boufarik military airport, 40 kilometers west of the Algerian capital.  

 

The Moroccan news agency, MAP, reported that the crash of the C130 Hercules transport plane killed several victims on the ground. Police and rescuers rushed to the scene and evacuated the injured to regional hospitals for treatment. (Albawaba.com)
