Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Monday that policies of colonialist powers in the Middle East are "wrong and defeated." The Iranian leader told Syrian Minister of Telecommunications and Technology Amr Salem that unity is the key to all problems as well as security, peace and stability worldwide.
According to IRNA, he said troop build-up in Iraq and weakening of its popular government, establishment of Israel, enmity with Iran and Syria and interference in Lebanese affairs are examples of wrong policies of the colonialist powers in the region. He added that the "colonialist powers" do not attach the least value to regional nations and only follow their own interests, therefore regional states should be wise to check more problems.
The president said policies of the US government in Iraq are also failed.
Calling the Zionist regime of Israel as a constant threat for the region, Ahmadinejad said that as long as the false regime is in Palestine, there will be no calm in the region, so regional states should be more united and alert than before to thwart their dirty plots for discord.
