The prime minister of the interim government of war-ravaged Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, will pay an official visit to Saudi Arabia next week, afghan Islamic press (AIP) said on Tuesday in Islam Abad.

The Pakistan-based agency has reported that the leader will first travel to Saudi Arabia and then will return to Kabul before going to Tokyo on January 19. Hamid Karzai will lead his country's delegation to the January 21-22 conference of donor countries for the re-construction of war-battered Afghanistan.

Many western and other countries including Pakistan had recognized Afghanistan’s new interim government and re-opened their embassies. (Albawaba.com)
