About 490 investment projects were licensed by Yemen's Aden Free Zone (AFZ) during the first half of 2001, an AFZ official told the official Yemeni news agency, Saba, on Saturday.
The licensed projects are set to be implemented within the framework of the industrial sector of the second stage of the free zone, AFZ chair Derhem Abdu Noman said.
"The overall cost of these projects is $419 million to be funded by Yemeni, Arab, and foreign investors," said Derhem.
Meanwhile, Derhem said 156,747 cargo containers were unloaded at the Aden Container Terminal during the same period, according to the agency – Albawaba.com
