The 22nd Tehran International Competition of Holy Quran was inaugurated by the Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad on October 7. Forty five countries from the Middle East, Asia and Africa are taking part in the competition, in which five people will be awarded in the fields of memorizing, reciting, and interpreting the Quran. The Egyptian reciter Sheikh Muhammad al-Tukhi will be among the jury, which is composed of sixteen outstanding reciters of the Quran. The competition will run until October 20
