At least 14 Palestinians were arrested Thursday by Israeli forces in separate incidents in the West Bank cities of Nablus and Bethlehem, witnesses and Palestinian security sources said.
Israeli armoured vehicles rolled into the Refugee Camp of Balata, near Nablus, imposed curfew and arrested three, witnesses told WAFA.
In the meantime, Israeli troops rolled into the eastern part of the city and arrested three other Palestinians, security sources said, adding that two other were also arrested in the village of Rojeeb.
In Bethlehem, witnesses told WAFA that massive Israeli forces incurred into al-Ebaiat and Artass areas of the city and conducted a house-to-house search operation, shortly before arresting Khader al-Daloo 24, Samer al-Edwan 19, Samy Kanaan 24 and Mohammed Esmaeel.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers stormed Artass area and broke into two houses, arresting Ibrahim Jubran and Mohammed Abed Rabu.
In another development, a Palestinian human rights report said that Israeli forces shot dead 137 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip during May 2004.
The report issued by the Palestinian Council for Peace and Justice (PCPJ) said that among the 137 Palestinians killed, 43 were under the age of 18.
The report added that 1127 Palestinians, among them 434 children, were shot and wounded by Israeli soldiers, adding that 1050 were arrested during Israeli army raids of towns and village in the territories during last month. (Albawaba.com)
