ALBAWABA - Yiftah Ron-Tal, who used to be in charge of the Israeli army's ground forces, has said that Israel is risking disaster by keeping troops in the Gaza Strip almost two years after the war ended. Ron-Tal told The Jerusalem Post that he was very angry with the government for not having a clear plan and not deciding where the war should go.

Ron-Tal said that Israel's so-called "military gains" are being lost because it can't handle things well in Gaza. He said that the Israeli army is experiencing tactical burnout and that backup troops are "extremely exhausted" from being on the move for long periods of time.

The former general told the government that it needed to set clear war goals and stop hesitating.

"The war can't possibly go on forever." "The government needs to decide where we're going," he said.

He also said that the army has been failing for months to set up a civilian government for Gaza, which is a big problem when it comes to handling relief help. He said that this is why Hamas still controls daily life in the area.

There have been calls from within the military to stop the operation because the troops are tired, but the Israeli government doesn't seem to have a plan for how to do that. There is a lot of doubt because families of Israeli prisoners are putting more and more pressure on the government to make a deal that will end the war and free their loved ones.
