ALBAWABA - As tensions continue to grow in the wake of Israel's massive assault on Iranian sites, an Iranian military source has warned that the current confrontation will soon spread to encompass American military posts around the area.

The battle, which started with Israeli assaults, is moving into a larger phase and won't be restricted to small encounters, the anonymous military source told Iran's Fars News Agency.  He underlined that Iran's retaliation would be "decisive and far-reaching," adding that "all occupied territories and U.S. bases in the region will become legitimate targets."

The source further promised that the strikes will be "extremely painful" for those responsible for the assaults on the Islamic Republic and warned that Iran's retaliatory actions "will continue and intensify."

Iran has formally informed the United States, the United Kingdom, and France of its plan to increase the number of attacks it launches against Israeli targets, according to Mehr News Agency.  Tehran has threatened to strike Western military sites and naval troops in the area if they help Israel repel Iranian threats, according to Iranian official media, which Reuters quoted.

To finalize measures for further reactions, Iran's Supreme National Security Council convened an emergency meeting on Friday.  According to reports, the council discussed plans for further reprisal in the event that Israel took more action.

On Saturday morning, the Israeli Home Front Command said that a sixth round of missiles had been fired from Iran, striking large swaths of the nation.

According to preliminary Israeli reports, three individuals have died: one lady in the Tel Aviv district of Ramat Gan, and two in the city of Rishon LeZion, south of Tel Aviv.  Authorities described the destruction in the broader Tel Aviv region as "unprecedented," with around 90 additional people hurt in the assaults.

With Iran indicating that the battleground may soon expand beyond Israel to encompass American forces in the Middle East, the attacks represent a dramatic escalation in the regional confrontation.
