The play “Eclipse” will be shown at the Scientific Theatre of Algeria starting from next week. Mahmoud Fellous, the director of the play and the member of Bouzarrah scientific group, said that the play aims at raising awareness among Algerian public about the solar eclipse envisaged to take place on October 3. “Algerians were afraid of the solar eclipse on August 11, 1999. This is where we got the idea for a play on solar eclipse,” said Fellous. Liberte Algeria reports that the Play is about an astrologist, who finds himself in prison for predicting that there will be a solar eclipse. The appearance of the solar eclipse is the single condition set by the Sultan for the freedom of the astrologist. In the play, while waiting for the solar eclipse to start, the astrologist, who is very sure of his prediction, explains the phenomenon of solar eclipse scientifically.
