“This will be in history books”: Hebrew message follows ceasefire breakdown

A ceasefire in Sweida took effect on July 20 after Bedouin and tribal fighters withdrew from Sweida city and Druze groups regained control, while government forces deployed in parts of the province. The UN said on July 22 that it was relocating its staff and their families from the city, and that it had handed a new aid shipment to the Syrian Red Crescent destined for Sweida. ALBAWABA - On Friday, tensions rose in Syria's Sweida province after local forces were said to have broken a shaky truce. At the same time, a Hebrew-language message went around promising to turn Jabal al-Sweida into a "graveyard for ISIS."

A military source from one of the local groups told Erem News that rocket launchers, grenades, DShK heavy machine guns, and light infantry weapons like PKC machine guns were used in the attack on the town of Najran in western rural Sweida.  Some say the attack came from the direction of Waqm village and the farm road in Duwayri, as well as the direction of Qarasa.

A person who did not want to be named said that the truce was "unilaterally imposed" and "inherently weak." They also said that it ended earlier than expected.  He said, "This time, it failed faster than anyone thought it would."

He also said that some groups are working together with Israeli troops directly through shared operations rooms.

The person said that Erem News got a copy of the Hebrew message that was sent to Sweida.  It means "Do not worry." in English.  Everything will be okay...  It will take some time, though.  ISIS will bury their dead in Jabal al-Sweida, just like the Ottomans did in Yemen.  "God willing, this line will be written in history books."

Early that morning, armed groups attacked Najran, according to reports from the area and the people who live there. This was another break of the truce.  This happened even though some people had returned to the town in the last few weeks after the fighting troops left.

People are afraid that the violence will get worse in Sweden, which already has a lot of problems with security and changing relationships.
