NBAD opens second branch in Jordan

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Number One Bank in the UAE, inaugurated its second branch in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The new branch is located in Wadi Abdoun, which separates Jabal Amman and Abdoun neighborhoods in the Jordanian capital.
NBAD’s launch of its operations in Jordan in February 2010 marked the Bank’s entry into the Levant and laid the foundation for the Bank’s commercial expansions in the region.
“NBAD entered Jordan with the commitment to serve and expand in this market and just a year later we are launching the second branch,” said Qamber Ali Al-Mulla, the Senior General Manager of the International Banking Division at NBAD. “Jordan’s strategic geographical location and its developed banking system provide NBAD the opportunity to expand its world class products and services in the Kingdom and into other markets.”
NBAD – Jordan facilitates trade and commerce between Jordan and the GCC and serves corporate and high net worth individuals (HNWI) in both the UAE and Jordan by offering superior and comprehensive commercial banking services. The services and products offered in Jordan include corporate and retail banking, Elite banking, wealth management, deposits, finance, and other tools and solutions to serve UAE companies working in Jordan and Jordanian expatriates and companies in the UAE.
NBAD plans to extend its network in Jordan to reach six branches by 2015. The importance of NBAD’s presence in the Kingdom stems from its status as one of the largest banks in the Arab world and one of the world’s 50 Safest Banks.
“NBAD continues to leverage its niche as the bank of choice for all related trade and investment opportunities,” said Imad Marar, NBAD's Regional Manager in Jordan. “NBAD strategies aim to achieve our vision to recognised as the World’s Best Arab Bank.”
NBAD has the UAE’s largest international network with nearly 50 branches and 60 ATMs in Hong Kong, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Libya, France, Switzerland, England and the United States.
“Our presence in Jordan plays an important role in NBAD’s international branch network and serves as a gateway to the UAE, boosting trade and investment between the UAE and Jordan,” Mr. Al-Mulla said. “In addition to our expansion plan across the Levant, NBAD is working to commence its Malaysian operations as well as the launch of a representative office in Shanghai, the first in mainland China. NBAD is looking to other destinations in the Middle East and Asia such as Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey and India.”
