Mubarak appoints Suleiman as his deputy

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Saturday appointed his intelligence chief Omar Suleiman to be his deputy, the official news agency said. 

The vice president is the post that Mubarark occupied before he was appointed president. 

Meanwhile, News reports said that a rebellion took place at Egypt's Abu Zaabal prison and that security forces fired live bullets on the prisoners. There were also reports of dozens of deaths in a similar incident when the security forces opened fire in Qata in the Nile Delta.
