In the wake of the Paris attacks in November and the San Bernardino attacks last week, there's some pretty heated discussions around Islam, the Quran and the propoensity for violent extremism. We've seen conservative pundits pounce on this idea—look to Trump in America, and Le Pen in France. But how do everyday people feel?
On a segment called "The Holy Quran Experiment," Dutch YouTube channel Dat is Normaal shared some pretty gory holy verses with people on the street and asked what they thought of the Quran and its relation to Christianity. The responses were mixed but largely pretty down on Islam. One women said one particularly misogynistic bit highlighted the "biggest difference" between Islam and Christianity was "the role of women."
But there was a catch—the verses the YouTube duo were reading aloud were not actually from the Quran at all. They were from the Bible.
So how to people react when parts of the Bible are disguised as Quranic verses? Pretty much as you might expect, but this one guy sums it up pretty well.
