First Gulf Bank celebrates World Family Day

In line with its corporate social responsibility strategy and in line with its current initiative, ‘Community First’, First Gulf Bank (FGB), recently ran a competition on Star FM, Emarat FM and Al Khaleejia FM from 15-19 May 2011; in celebration of the UN Global Initiative, “World Family Day” which is held on 15 May each year. This initiative by FGB, focuses on the UAE community, and aims to highlight the importance of family life and the role it plays in strengthening the society of the UAE.

Each day listeners answered multiple choice questions and a winner was chosen at the end of each show. Over the course of the week FGB gave away 15 family passes to 90 people for Ferrari World Abu Dhabi (FWAD). The competition won large support with over 800 people participating.

Abdulwahed Juma, Head of Corporate Affairs commenting on the recent initiative stated: “FGB launched “Community First” in order to create an environment of mutual understanding and unity between all community members. In celebration of World Family Day, First Gulf Bank wanted to give families a unique opportunity to spend quality time together at FWAD. Through our CSR initiatives FGB aims to support the societal development of UAE.”

Juma continued; “On behalf of FGB I would like to congratulate all the winners and their families that won and we hope they have a magical day out.”

Commenting on his recent win, Abdullah Ali Sultan one of the winners said, “It was a great privilege to win these tickets from FGB, as I look forward to spending quality time with my family at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in the coming days. I would also like to thank the bank for this excellent initiative which highlights the importance of family and assures its primary role in building society.”

Further to its initiative “Community First”, FGB plans to launch a number of corporate social responsibility campaigns to positively contribute to the development of the greater community in the UAE.
