The trouble with some Arabic names? They can land you in trouble at passport control for matching a suspected "terrorist's" name.

Egyptian superstar Tamer Hosny knows the feeling. The 39-year-old singer was refused an entry visa to the UAE this month after the embassy confused him with a suspected criminal on their watch list.

A distressed Tamer - who is set to perform in Dubai on Friday 18 November - admitted that this is the second time the UAE embassy had him confused with the other Tamer Hosny.

However, with a little help from top officials at the embassy, and after submitting a long list of his family tree, Tamer was issued a visa and made his way to Dubai on Wednesday morning.

Will you be attending the talented star's first ever concert at the Global Village Dubai this weekend?
