Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama recently was in Italy after receiving a special invitation from the Italian TV station RAI-UNO to take part in the Italian Festival Del Moda E La Muzica (Music and Fashion Festival). The singer sang a number of his latest hits like "Tab Leah" (But Why), which found a huge success around most of Europe.
Ragheb was noted to be the only Arab singer to ever take part in the festival, in addition to being the only one ever hosted on an Italian television station, reported the London based Elaph. The episode that featured Ragheb was aired on the June 17, 2003, and through it the singer received many calls from listeners congratulating him for the success he achieved at the festival.
Ragheb has also traveled to Canada for a special tour, holding several concerts in different areas to the Arab population residing there. Upon his arrival at Toronto airport he and his crew had taken extra precautions before getting off the plane and were wearing masks on their faces to protect themselves from the deadly SARS virus.
Airport security began to worry that the scene may cause a panic outbreak at the airport. Security assured Ragheb and his crew that there is no need for their extra precautions and that SARS has been properly contained. They then were requested to take off their masks and not to worry about the spread of the virus.
Alama previously denied circulating rumors that he has separated from his wife Jihan. The singer also denied the existence of any form of dispute between them, saying that they are enjoying a happy marriage. Recent rumors had it that the couple had a huge fight and that Jihan left Ragheb for good. The dispute was over the fact that Jihan found out that Ragheb is involved in an affair with another woman and realized she could not bare such a thing. Ragheb strongly denied having any form of a relationship with another woman stressing the fact that he would never cheat on his wife. –Albawaba.com
