Kuwaiti actress Hayat Al-Fahed dies aged 78

ALBAWABA - Kuwaiti actress Hayat Al-Fahed passed away at the age of 78, her official page announced on Tuesday.

According to her close circle, Hayat Al-Fahed died after a long suffer with illness.

In a statement, her official page wrote, "To God we belong, and to Him we shall return.

With hearts filled with faith in God's will and decree, we mourn the passing of the esteemed artist Hayat Al-Fahad, who departed this life after a battle with illness, following a career brimming with artistic and humanitarian contributions.

She was a symbol of Gulf drama, leaving behind an enduring legacy that will remain in the memory of generations. We ask God to shower her with His boundless mercy, grant her a place in His spacious Paradise, and inspire her family and loved ones with patience and solace."

Yesterday, the Kuwaiti actress was transferred to intensive care after a sudden deterioration in her health which   required urgent medical intervention.

The Kuwaiti Union for Artistic and Theatrical Production announced in an official statement that Hayat Al-Fahed, known as "First Lady of Gulf Cinema", was urgently transferred to the intensive care unit after an emergency health setback that required immediate medical intervention.

Hayat Al-Fahed was born on April 18, 1948, in Kuwait. She began her career in the 1960s in Kuwaiti theater before moving into television, where she quickly became a leading figure in Gulf drama. 

Some of her early and well-known series include Al-Darb Al-Tawil, Ruqayya wa Sabeeka, and later successful works like Jarh Al-Zaman. Over the years, she built a long and respected career through roles that often reflect social issues, making her one of the most influential actresses in the Arab world.
