ALBAWABA - Josh Brolin finally addresses rumors linking his new character to Trump.

Josh Brolin says that Donald Trump did not inspire his role in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. He remembers Trump as a friend and a "genius" in "marketing."

“I’m not scared of Trump, because even though he says he’s staying for ever, it’s just not going to happen,” the Oscar nominee said in a recent interview.

The Oscar nominee told The Independent on Saturday that the role of Monsignor Wicks in the new Knives Out movie was not based on the president. The speaker said, "I could make something up and say it was based on a kind of Trumpian greed." He also said, "Once Wicks feels powerful, there are no limits."

The topic prompted Brolin to touch on his former friendship with the president, further addressing speculation of Trump running for a third term, which he predicted is “just not going to happen.”

“I don't fear Trump, because even though he says he's staying forever, it simply won't happen. "And if it does, I'll handle that," Brolin said. “But having been a friend of Trump before he was president, I know a different guy.”

They met after Brolin was in Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. The president was meant to have a small role in the movie. The actor said of Trump's business deals, "There is no greater genius than him in marketing—he takes the weakness of the general population and fills it."

"That's why I think a lot of people see him as their mascot," he said. "I don't think it's so much about Trump as it is about people in general and their need to be accepted."
