ALBAWABA - Turkish actors Helin Kandemir and Hakan Çelebi are joining forces for the first time in Çiçekçi Kız (The Flower Girl), a new original digital series that is currently in production for TOD. The romantic drama brings together two rising stars in a story that blends romance, mystery, and everyday life.
According to Turkish entertainment reports, the series is being produced by Ofis Medya and created by award-winning filmmaker Deniz Akçay, who serves as both the writer and director. The project is planned as a short-form digital series designed specifically for streaming audiences.
Preparations officially began with the cast's script reading, marking the start of production before filming moves into full swing.
Helin Kandemir has been cast as Nilüfer, an ambitious young woman who decides to leave behind the pressures and complications of her professional career in search of a quieter, more meaningful life. Hoping for a fresh start, she opens a cozy café where she also sells flowers, creating a warm and welcoming space that becomes central to the story.
Her peaceful new beginning, however, is disrupted when she meets Faruk, portrayed by Hakan Çelebi.
Faruk initially appears to be an ordinary man who becomes Nilüfer's business partner at the café. As the story unfolds, it is revealed that he is actually an undercover police officer carrying out a confidential mission, setting the stage for a relationship built on hidden identities, unexpected emotions, and difficult choices.
The developing connection between Nilüfer and Faruk is expected to form the emotional heart of the series, combining romance with suspense as Faruk struggles to balance his professional responsibilities with his growing feelings.
The supporting cast includes Yiğit Yapıcı, Yunus Narin, Gizem Denizci, and Müge Su Şahin, all of whom will play important roles throughout the story. The actress has steadily built a reputation through performances in productions including Hakan: Muhafız (The Protector), Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir, Kağıt Ev, Duy Beni, and most recently Sevdiğim Sensin, where she portrayed Dicle.
Meanwhile, Hakan Çelebi continues to expand his acting career after attracting attention for his portrayal of Paşa in Yeraltı.
