Dubai is getting something of a treat this year, with the Polish National Opera bringing Eugene Onegin and Aida to the Dubai Opera.
Aida, composed by Giuseppe Verdi, will run February 14–18, 2018. A story of forbidden love, it tells the story of Egyptian warrior Radames and the princess Aida.
It will be followed by Eugene Onegin, based on Alexander Pushkin’s “novel in verse.” Performed February 22-23, Eugene Onegin, written by Pytor Tchaikovsky himself, tells the story of its titular character, who coldly rejects the love of his friend’s fiance’s sister, bringing tragedy.
