Larry David's HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm helps keep an innocent man off of death row in the first trailer for Netflix's upcoming documentary, Long Shot.

The clip, released Thursday, tells the story of Juan Catalan, who was arrested for a murder he never committed. Catalan's alibi was that he was present at a Los Angeles Dodgers game the night of the crime.

Needing evidence to prove he was present at the baseball game, Catalan remembered that an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm was filming at the stadium at the same time.

"The episode was that I picked up a hooker in the carpool lane and took her to the Dodger Stadium," David said in the trailer, explaining how cameras were rolling at the location and capturing fans viewing the game.

To show that he is innocent, Catalan and his lawyer had to go through footage of the episode to find himself sitting in the stands.

"To save his life, all he had to do was prove he was one of 56,000 people at a Dodgers Game that night. That's where Larry David comes in....," reads the synopsis of the true life story.

Long Shot arrives on Netflix starting Sept. 29.
